Broken New Year's Resolution Already? MaxEndurance Is Here To Help You Find Your Motivation Again!

The New Year came, and you've been hitting the gym. You're feeling good, but then something happens!

Every year around this time, people start to fall off the wagon, as the saying goes. There can be several reasons why this happens. Maybe the goals set weren't reasonable enough to become behaviors, or you succumbed to an injury. Maybe you started a new job and time is hard to find. Whatever the reason is, there is usually a solution that's right for you.

Sometimes we need a moment to reflect and pick up where we left off. Sometimes you need to reevaluate your goals and make sure they are attainable where you're at now. Oftentimes, you can continue growing in your current situation by adding additional resources you can use anywhere.

This blog is about having resources available wherever you are. With fitness, and weight loss being the number one goal people set out for in the New Year, we are going to provide some tips on how to continue to reach your goals even from home!

You can get a great workout from home with minimal equipment, just using your body weight! Working out at home also alleviates the time issue. Think about exercises that you can do anywhere; your home, when you're traveling or staying in a hotel room.

Here are a few ideas that you can incorporate with just your bodyweight alone:

  • Squats

  • Lunges

  • Step-ups

  • Push-ups

  • Pull-ups

  • Planks

If you have a kettlebell, dumbbells, and resistance bands, you can do almost any exercise you want from home.

Here are a few ideas:

  • Goblet squat

  • Split squat

  • RDL (Romanian Deadlift)

  • Floor press

  • Kettlebell swings

  • Bent over rows

The list could go on forever, but I think you get the idea.

If you are struggling to make it to the gym, or life right now is difficult.

Try to incorporate a home workout. It might be just what you need to get your motivation back!

Meet Coach James

James Spencer, Founder

I was born and raised in Southeast Kansas and developed an interest in sports and fitness early in life. To pursue my passion in teaching and coaching, I received a Bachelor of Science in Education from Pittsburg State University in 2007. I taught physical education and coached basketball in a rural community south of Kansas City for 7 years, and in 2013, I completed my Master’s Degree in Human Performance and Wellness.

In 2014, our family relocated to Joplin to be closer to our family and I continued teaching and coaching in the Joplin School District. I currently teach physical education and serve as the assistant boys basketball coach at Joplin High School and also serve as the Joplin Middle School cross country coach.

Through my career as a teacher and coach, I have developed a passion for helping others achieve their goals. For that reason, I have worked to receive certifications from NASM-CPT, Precision Nutrition Level 1, IronMan and Revo2lution Running.

My family is my biggest motivator in all that I do. My wife, Kayla, is currently a pediatric physical therapist for the Joplin School District. We have two children, Emery (age 8) and Cale (age 5). Our family enjoys an active lifestyle, loving to run, cycle, swim, hike and be outdoors together.
